What are dentures?

Well-planned, well-fitted dentures and partial dentures can be very functional and natural-looking alternatives when multiple teeth are missing. Dentures are made from prosthetic (artificial) teeth supported by a gum-colored base. The most well-known type of denture is called a complete denture, or full denture. Complete dentures are used to replace all of the teeth in the upper dental arch, lower dental arch, or both arches.

What are partial dentures?

A partial denture, sometimes simply referred to as a partial, is used when some natural teeth still remain. The partial denture fills in the space left by the missing teeth for a complete, functional smile once again.

What are digital dentures?

AvaDent® digital dentures bring the very significant advantages and economies of computer-aided design and manufacturing to full dentures. To create digital dentures in Marlborough, Connecticut, Dr. Douglas Doran uses a CAD/CAM system to take impressions of your smile and create your custom dentures. Digital dentures often fit better, are more secure, and provide a more natural-looking restoration.

Mini dental implants can be a wonderful benefit to many denture-wearers – providing very cost-effective, surgically “quick and simple,” yet highly functional denture stabilization. The dentures can be anchored to the mini dental implants for enhanced stability and security.
